![]() I feel the interference causes the remote to reset, or knocks it off its link with the board momentarily. ![]() Wrapping it entirely caused it not to work. I tried wrapping part of the controller with tinfoil. This new board seemed to shore up that theory. I suspected with the Fiik that there was outside interference going on somehow. Throttle cuts out unexpectedly and frequently. It exhibited the *exact* same behaviour as my previous board. I bought one lightly used and took it out the very day it arrived. Acton has the blink, a lighter smaller and much cheaper board than the Fiik. It was very fast and powerful, dangerous without reliable braking and throttle control.įast forward four years. The company replaced the board, then when that failed, replaced the ESC, and the remote. The remote gave me constant issues with cutting out suddenly, often and randomly. I came on here to mention the remote that some people may have issues with. ![]() Overall, it is a great electric skateboard for the price! Read full review. I initially had some problems with the skateboard but i made a call to the company and filed a w arranty claim and within a week they reached out and helped me fix it. The range usually lasts about 4 miles and takes 2 hrs to charge. However, after you get about halfway through the battery, the acceleration feels quite a bit more sluggish and tops out at about 7mph. At top speed, i go about 7-8 MPH and when going downhill i usually hit more than 10. The skateboard has held up very well over these 30 miles and still functions very well. This includes going to school and going around my neighborhood. I have owned this skateboard for two months and have put more than 30 miles on it using it to get around. I got this on sale for $200 because my bike was broken and this was something that I had always wanted to try. This is overall a great skateboard for the price. Definitely has great value for being around 400 bucks. The build quality is great the battery power is pretty impressive for its weight and size. Without power, it felt exactly like how a normal skateboard should be. Even when the board ran out of batteries, I was still able to use the board like a regular skateboard. Everything you do with the electric board is accessed via the smartphone app (for speed settings and checking battery life) and the remote controller (for controlling your speed/going in reverse). The acceleration feels smooth and braking doesn't feel too abrupt. Unlike many of the other electric boards I've seen, the Blink Lite seems to be using a hub motor instead of a gear-belt one. My guess is that this is made for safety reasons-I can see how it would bother some racing enthusiasts, though. The board can get pretty fast in a matter of seconds, but not blazing so fast that you would feel like you're putting your life on the line. ![]() I gave it a shot I've loved i t ever since. The Blink Lite caught my attention not only because it's an electric skateboard, but also because it's only 7lbs, which is much lighter than most electric skateboards out there AND even some non-electric skateboards. My naive self had no idea how tiresome walking could be, so during summer, I've turned to see what skateboards I could purchase. Students use skateboards and bikes as a means of transportation due to the limited amount of parking spots (also because many of them come from out of state). As a student who has just experienced his first year in college, I've come to realize how drastically larger a college campus can be compared to your local high school. My story with my Blink Lite is kinda interesting: I made my purchase of the board out of need. Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: new | Sold by: shopdivvy The dimensions and performance are not significantly different, but the Blink Lite wins on price by a long shot.Ī phone call to Acton revealed that the standard Blink is getting an upgrade and may fit the bill of what one would look for in a primary daily use board. There is another "bolt board" that I've been following that seems to be a similar product but is yet to be released and is well over double the price. If cheap, light and portable are your goals and you would have no use for a larger and/or faster board, this is the only way to go. For this purpose, it was worth the money. I purchased this board as a "guest board" to a ccompany my main electric skateboard. Zboard: Smaller, slower, cheaper, different control mechanism Less than half the price and almost 1/3 of the range. Poor/almost useless braking (even following their specific braking instructions)Īlmost no uphill usability (although this is disclosed in their incline rating)īoosted: A small fraction of the price, but slower and smallerĮ-go: Smaller, but due to E-go's speed limiter, roughly the same top speed. No drag when you pull off the throttle/easy coasting downhill
